Homemade Carrot Cakes & Baked Goods Sold Under Florida Cottage Food Law (§ 500.80)

Cottage Food Operation All products are produced and sold in full compliance with Florida’s Cottage Food Law (Florida Statute § 500.80). Our home kitchen is not licensed, permitted, or inspected by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services or any health department.

Allowed Products & Ingredients We sell only non-potentially hazardous baked goods (carrot cake, vanilla pound cake, muffins, etc.). No items require refrigeration after baking. All ingredients, allergens (wheat, eggs, dairy, tree nuts), and net weight are clearly listed on every label.

Labeling Statement Every cake carries the exact statement required by law in at least 10-point bold type: “Made in a cottage food operation that is not subject to Florida’s food safety regulations.”

Sales Method – Direct to Consumer Only Sales are direct from Abuela’s Cake Website - For Pickup. No wholesale, no third-party retail, and no resale permitted.

Freshness & Baking Schedule To guarantee maximum freshness, Abuela bakes in small rounds. All cakes are ready for pickup only (no shipping of any-size cakes).

Pickup-Only Policy for all-Size Cakes Pickup time will be confirmed within 24 hours of order placement.

Order Confirmation & Changes We will contact you within 24 hours to confirm availability, exact pickup time, and payment. Orders are not guaranteed until confirmed.

Payment & Refunds Payment is due at time of order confirmation. Because each cake is baked fresh to Pick Up, we do not offer refunds or cancellations once baking has begun (typically within 12 hours of confirmation).

Allergy & Health Disclaimer Products are made in a home kitchen that processes wheat, eggs, dairy, and tree nuts. Customers with food allergies or health conditions assume all risk.
